As senior Marry Nguyen walked onto the football field in the early morning darkness, spotting classmates she hadn’t seen all summer, it hit her — this was it: the beginning of the end.
“I’m excited because this is where we make all our memories,” Nguyen said, smiling between group selfies. “I hope we’re all hyped and ready to take lots of photos this year.”
Senior Sunrise marked the official kickoff to the Class of 2026’s final lap — a moment to gather, reflect, and celebrate before the rush of classes and college applications.
For many, the morning felt both nostalgic and motivating. “It’s surreal,” said senior Sydney Tucker. “I didn’t do enough activities before, so I’m making up for it this year.”
Held on August 12, the day before school started, the event gave seniors a chance to watch the sunrise, reconnect, and savor one last first day together.
Senior Daniel Sahevtra felt both nervous and excited. “It’s nice to see everyone before school starts — no pressure yet,” he said.
As the sun climbed higher, reunions filled the field with laughter and hugs. “It’s so good to be with everyone again,” said Jayden Mayhew.
Senior Valerie Quintana smiled. “It’s going to be a beautiful ending,” she said.
