It’s about that time of the year for nice weather, double plays, home runs, and most importantly softball season!! It’s here and it’s getting busy. Bowie softball’s first game is February and a lot of players and coaches are very excited.

“It’s time for the best sport to get busy and go win every game,” Head Softball coach Cera Holder said.

Coach Holder said that the main focus is to win and the biggest goal for the team is to make the playoffs, and that each and every player is so eager to play.

“I’m so ready for this season, we’re gonna have a good year,” Sophomore Catcher Callie Curtis said.

This season means a lot to the Lady Vols because they want to come out this season and make the playoffs since they didn’t make them last year. They are ready to get to work and achieve their goal this season.

“We still hate the fact that we were one win short of playoffs last year, so our goal this year is to just win as many as we can to make sure we get in with no problem,” Junior Pitcher Leslie Ledezma said.

This year’s season means a lot to the seniors, this is their last year and they want to go out on top and have a great season before it’s time for them to leave.

“All I want is a winning season and to experience the playoffs and make a deep run,” Senior 3rd baseman Rejoice Pagofie said.

Senior Utility player Briana Rodriguez says that this is their season, this is the year that the team will go far. She believes that this year’s team can make a real big run in the playoffs and shock everyone and she is happy to be a part of it.

“I truly believe that we can go far and prove everybody wrong and show them that we are the team to beat.” Rodriguez said.

With the first game approaching in just a couple weeks, the team has been practicing hard to start off the season with a bang and get the W.

“We got to start off strong so we can finish strong, and we will definitely start off with a win.” Coach Holder said.
